We are a small family run business, in Herts, we offer private livery services and riding lessons, pony day/experience and birthday parties. We are committed to promoting the highest standards of equine welfare, equestrianism and customer service within our small business and are licenced by the local council we have just been awarded a 5* rating our Licence number is: LN/000003427/2022 
Our staff have several years of experience and yard manager holds many recognised qualifications in horse management.

Danecroft Stables would like to make everyone feel included and welcome therefore we a have a great relationship and work closely with  Potential Kids, trying to give everyone the opportunity so share in the joy of horses as we do, sharing our knowledge and experience with others.

Livery  Options

We are set in beautiful county surroundings, and enjoy lots of off road hacking, in this quite tranquil setting our horses and ponies are very content, due to the laid back nature and peacefulness surrounding this picturesque safe haven. We offer all year turnout, in our secure newly fenced fields with no barbed wire and secured with electric fencing, we have separate small herds for Mares and Geldings. with a separate sick paddock if required. Danecroft can offer full Livery, Part livery and DIY packages to suit your horse/pony's individual needs.  Danecroft have full CCTV,  secure individual tack sheds, flood lit out door school with a carpet fibre surface. We have a tea room with washing machine and dryer. onsite toilet facilities, We have recently finished our first phase of our renovation build, we now have a nice brand new Stable block, and are now part way through  phase two, due to finish mid 2024, we have  parking for trailers and lorry's with prior arrangement.  We also welcome families with children of all ages.

Our yard staff have a many years of experience, owning and working with horses, and have recognised Qualifications in all things equine.   

 Our staff also have a back ground working in the care sector, private and NHS  this covers experience working with people who live with complex needs both physically and Neurodiversity, this experience covers  all ages. we want everyone to feel included and be able to enjoy Horses as much as we do.
We also have a family of dogs that live and work with us, these are part of the Danecroft family

With the cost of living on the increase we have had no option but to increase our Prices 

that will take  affect from 1st Oct 2023 

​

Toddler Lessons:

*(Only Available Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays Term Time only)

Under 4 ‘s Toddler Lead Rein 20 mins in school  £20.00

Under 4’s Toddler Lead Rein 20 mins hack  £20.00

Private Lessons:

½ an hour with 1-1 instruction​ £40.00

45 mins with 1-1 instruction £55.00

*1 hour with 1-1 instruction £65.00

*(Limited availability over weekends)

Group Lessons:

½ hour with 2-4 clients​  £30.00

*45 mins with 2-4 clients £40.00

*1 hour with 2-4 clients  £50.00

*(not available during peak times)

Discount bookings:

*Book any 5 lessons with 10% discount

*Book any 10 Lessons for the price of 9

*(These offers excludes Sundays)

 

Extra services available:

 

Pony Days (school holidays only, these are published on the events tab)

£60.00 Per child duration 10.am -2.pm from Children aged 7 and over 

Pony Therapy sessions

Ground work only- non ridden Starting at £35 per child 

Ground work and ridden combo starting from £45.00 per hour per child

 

Please note:

Horse riding is often classed as an extreme sport and due to this we need to remind you that the rider rides at their own risk, with this in mind we would strongly recommend that each rider takes out their own riders insurance.

each rider wears a BSI approved hat.

wears appropriate boots (such as jodhpur boots/ wellies with a small heal- no trainers sandals or flip flops) equally you will need  gloves and clothing fit for the sport.

 

Danecroft reserve the right to refuse a lesson to someone wearing inappropriate clothing such as a dress/skirt, shorts or jeans. Jodhpurs are preferred but not essential.

We would ask at the time of booking to disclose any health issues or illness that our team need to be aware of.

 

It is at Danecroft Stables discretion to cancel a lesson at any time if we feel the weather conditions are not suitable,    however the lesson will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience

What is an extreme weather condition?

                                         When the met office issue any of the below but not limited to..

                               Extreme heat anything above 27 degrees (red weather heat warning)

                      High winds (amber/ orange warning increased weather that can affect life)

The lessons are assessed on a day-by-day basis and follow a risk assessment process to determine the risk and to make sure both horse and rider are safe.

 

All block booked lessons will need to be paid in advance, by either bank transfer or card payment.

Please Note- Once dates have been booked and confirmed, it may not always be possible to re-schedule to a preferred date or time. 

Min of 48-hour cancellation period is required otherwise payments will be lost.
